When should I order my cake?
The sooner you order the cake for your event, the better. For wedding cakes, we recommend that you order your cake atleast 6 months in advance to avoid disappointment as we can only take a limited number of orders per week.

How much do you charge for your cakes?
Our cake prices differ based on the size, design, flavour and type of icing used on the cake. Please contact us for a quote on your cake.

Do you deliver?
Delivery and set-up is charged at R250 around the Pretoria and Johannesburg areas.
We do not deliver outside of Pretoria and Johannesburg unless special arrangements have been made.

Is it safe to travel to other provinces with the cake?
It is safe. We will advice you on the type of cake to order if you want to travel with it. You will however need an empty boot and a gentle driver.

Can I collect my cake a week in advance if my event will be held in another province?
This can only be done if the cake is a fruit cake as it does not spoil. For other flavours, we recommend that you make arrangements for the cake to be fetched a day before the event.

What do I do if I want to have a consultation with Lethabo Cakes?
Consultations are strictly by appointment only. Please e-mail or call Lethabo Cakes to set up an appointment.

How do I place an order?
Once you have decided on the cake you want, a 70% booking fee secures an order and it is non-refundable. This can be deposited into our account. Please use your name and date of event as your REFERENCE. The balance is payable before or on the day the cake is fetched. For delivered cakes, the balance should be paid before the date of delivery.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS


Ordering your cake 
1.  To avoid disappointment, please book early
2.  A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance of the quotation, to secure your booking. No deposit, no order.
3.  All balances should be paid 48 hours before collection or delivery.  No balance paid, no cake 
4.  For cakes;  we  don't  copy  or  try  to  reproduce  the  work  of  other  artists  due  to  copyright  rules. We  can  use  some inspiration  for your  order  but  please  don't  ask  for "exactly  as this  cake..."  
 5.  For tasting we charge R450 for 6 flavours 10cm round sponge cakes and fillings, please ask for an appointment.  
 6.  Prices are subject to change without notice 
 7.  All quotations are only valid for 30 days
 8.  All prices exclude delivery costs   
9.  When a  quotation  is  given  on  fresh  flowers  the  market  price  of  that specific  day  is used to  quote  on. This  means that the  price  on  the  flowers can increase  due  to  increase  in  interest  rate, lapse  of time  since  quote  was  given, change  in  weather, increase  in  supplier’s  fees  or flowers being  scarce. In  the  week  before  the  wedding  the flower prices  will be  monitored and  the client will  be  informed if there  is  a  price  increase  on  the  flowers. 

Payment Terms
 
1. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance of the quotation, to secure your booking. No deposit, no order. 
2. No order is secured without the deposit paid.
3. The  balance  should  be  fully  paid  48hrs  before  receipt  of the  items.  
4. To guarantee your order/date proof of full payment is required 2 days before the event. 
5. The cake/cupcakes will not be made if final payment has not been received.   
6. We are  happy  to  accept  payments  on  the  final contract  price  –  however, all monies must be received  48hrs or 2 weeks (depending on when the order is due) prior to the event or your cakes will not be made and all payments made will be non-refundable after the two-week lock-outdate unless special arrangements have been made beforehand.  
7. If you miss your final payment date all previous payments are non-refundable and are not recoverable in the event of total cancellation.

Booking Fee Required:
Your order becomes reserved only when 50% (100% in the case the cake is booked less than one month in advance) booking fee is received. The booking fee is paid to reserve your date and is NON-REFUNDABLE in the event of a cancellation. Cakes are first come first serve and we only do a limited number of cakes per week. However, if you need to change dates or move your event, please call us we’d be happy to make accommodating arrangements at no charge. Booking fees are required at the sole discretion of Lethabo Cakes.

Final Payment:
The final balance is due one month before the event date. If your cake is ordered less than 1 month before the event date, the total amount is due immediately and your order will not be placed until payment is received. The cake will not be released if final payment has not been received. 

Lethabo Cakes Pty LTD: Terms and Conditions on Storage and Set Up
1. Decorated cake should be stored in a box in a cool room or refrigerator.    
2. Away from moisture, out of direct sunlight and spotlight. 
3. Please ensure the venue has an aircon, alternatively a fan must be placed in front of the cake to keep it cool.

Transporting your cake 
1.  If you  are  transporting  the  cake  by  yourself,  place  it  on  a  flat  surface  in  the  vehicle  and  not  on  the  seat.   
2.  Do make sure your vehicle is cool.  
3.  Drive  with extreme  caution  and  never  leave  a  cake  unattended in  a  stationary  vehicle, cake  will melt  from  the heat. 
4.  No responsibility  can  be  taken  by  our company  for  any  subsequent  damage  once  the  cake  has  been  handed  over to  the customer  or  venue. 

Non-edibles
The cake may include non-edible decorations which must be removed before the cake is cut and served. Client will be informed of said items.

Changes to your cake order:
Size, description, flavours, etc. will be accepted until 2 weeks prior to the event date. After that lockout date we cannot accept any changes.

Delivery and Set-up:
Delivery and setup is required for all wedding cakes and for some multiple tiered special occasion cakes. Delivery is free within a 10km radius of Lethabo cakes and R3.50 per km outside the 10km radius. If you want to pick up your cake, please make arrangements beforehand to set up a time. Please arrive to pick up your cakes on time.

Cancellation Policy:
In the event of cancellation: Cakes cancelled prior to the 14 day lockout date can be refunded up to 50% of balance paid. This is for cakes paid in full. The 50% booking fee will not be refunded. Cakes cancelled after the 14 day lockout date will not be refunded. In the event that something occurs to affect your scheduled event date – please contact us to discuss options. Communication is key, if you are up-front about any issues about your date we will work hard to accommodate you. We understand things can come up that are out of your control.

1. Cancellation refunds are only valid on full balances paid. No refunds on booking fees.
2. 60 days prior to due date cancellation, 50% refund.
3. 30 days prior to due date cancellation, 25% refund.
4. 14 days prior to due date cancellation, 10% refund. 

Our Guarantee:
We promise to do everything in our power to deliver you a cake that exceeds your expectations. We will work with you on every level to make sure you are completely satisfied and happy with your cake. Please note that colours and design of actual cake may vary slightly from pictures found on line. 

Unsatisfactory goods
 1. With regards to cakes, if the cake is not of your satisfaction at the time of collection/delivery, please notify Lethabo Cakes a.s.a.p. and return the cake in the same order as it has been received. 
2. Once a cake has been cut it will not be redeemed or refunded.
3. Once the cake was damaged in transit by Lethabo Cakes, we will redeem, repair or replace any damaged items on the cake.
 4. Once the  cake  was  damaged  in transit by  you,  we  will not redeem, repair  or replace any damaged items  on the cake for free. 

DISCLAIMER:
In the case of an emergency or an error in your cake delivery, please contact us immediately so we can fix the issue right away! If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason, please call us the day of your event and explain the situation. In the rare case that you are unhappy with your cake and would like a refund, you must call the day of your event so your cake can be returned. Without proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment. This is necessary to hinder the very rare case of “If we complain, we’ll get a free cake” issue we occasionally come across. We are dedicated to satisfying our client’s cake requirements.
